PV integration will reach the critical limit of 15% in many areas, while EV-critical limits may be as low as 5%. This creates unstable grid voltage conditions that could result in more frequent and widespread outages. Therefore, new technologies to stabilize the grid voltage at residential distribution level (240V) are required to integrate more Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as solar and EVs.
While the latest residential inverters are designed to support the grid through reactive power injection, it is not practical or desired for utilities to exert direct control over these home devices. A product fully dedicated to and controlled by utilities themselves is required to perform this function.
Hydrokinetic technologies
RIVER TURBINE
The river offers a very good energy potential compared to other renewable sources of energy. Providing constant energy 24 hours a day, Idenergy’s river turbine can meet the electric needs of a residence by generating, at maximum capacity, up to 12 kWh daily.
The reliability of the turbine offers a good alternative to gas generators. Engine noise, gasoline smells, round trips to gas stations, fuel expenses will be problems of the past.
